Ensuring seamless operations for those who use it, Bluelight is your go-to system for laterals and mains lining, as well as smaller wastewater pipes. Utilising innovative technology, it features LEDs which operate in the wavelength of blue light (450 nm), while the liner-carrier is based on flexible felt complete with a durable PU coating or PAA-GF glass liner.
The resin is based on a styrene-free and odour free vinyl-ester product and comprises a patented, photo-initiator, which is designed to react only to the wavelength of the light-heads’ 450nm LEDs. It all adds up to ensure a highly sophisticated piece of equipment that can make light work of your wastewater projects. Available in size range of 70mm – 400mm and standard thicknesses of 3mm, 3.5mm, 4.5mm, 5mm and 6.5mm.
The PAA-GF liners can be impregnated with either Styrene free Vinylester or Styrene containing Polyester resins, with the benefit of being an exceptional quality and having excellent strength characteristics. PAA-GF liners are installed in the traditional way using a pull in place material and cured using Bluelights, small portable curing system. The reduced site footprint means that large vehicles are no longer required and minimal labour and equipment is required. Curing speeds of up to 1.65m/min (99m/hr) are achieved. Available in sizes from DN150 – DN600.
Bluelight is also working on a new glass liner which is designed for great strength and will also negotiate diameter changes. This will be available later in the year.

How is Bluelight manufactured?
It was no mean feat to bring an innovative system such as Bluelight to market – and now it’s available worldwide.
The liner carrier is made from flexible, synthetic fibre with PU coating or GRP carrier. Free from styrene and with resin based on vinyl ester, the cure combines LED technology in the wavelength of blue light (450 nm).
Offering curing speeds of up to 99m/hr (dependant on the type of liner, diameter, wall thickness and LED light head used), the Bluelight light curing system is produced according to the standard DIN EN ISO 9001.
What are the benefits of Bluelight for contractors?
As of August 2021, no UV LED light source has been approved by a GRP pipe liner manufacturer – unlike Bluelight, of course – for DIBT-compliant curing of UV-curing GRP pipe liners. The DIBT approvals do not cover UV LED curing, while speed tables for UV LED curing have not yet been released by any manufacturer, as far as we’re aware.
